The following is a description of Bettye and Bob's house on Fort Lauderdale Beach. We bought a `50s style beach house on A1A in April 1985, worked on it for almost thirteen years, and sold it in November 1997, for our asking price ... sold it furnished to close the deal, which meant we got to furnish our new, much smaller, 17th floor waterfront condo with all new stuff.

We increased the square footage in the house from 1,800 to 4,000 under A/C, with another 2,400 sq/ft of viewing decks. The beach was great, but we still see the same beach (and our ex-house behind Birch State Park), plus our view now overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway and across the Bonnett House Park to the ocean behind.

Now we have a front-row balcony view of the Winterfest Boat Parade each December, in addition to still having great seats for the Air & Sea Show each May. Life in South Florida ... It's rough, but someone's gotta do it.
